I'm a frequent visitor to Shield's because it's close to my work and it's spacious, so they are able to easily accommodate large groups. When I came for lunch, I ordered my usual, the lunch special which is a salad and a slice of pizza (which is actually the size of two slices.) For the slice, you can choose from either cheese, pepperoni or whatever their slice of the day is. Their salads are always good and their Detroit style pizza is super delicious. They also have a variety of non-pizza dishes on the menu that you can choose from including sandwiches, pastas and burgers. The only issue is that their service can be sub-par at times. We have been coming here so long that we've learned to accept it, but the pizza is so good that I'm willing to overlook absent servers.

First time here, even though it has been around a long time, somehow I never get around to visiting this spot.

Pretty large interior so plenty of seating space. I tried one of their specials for the evening - fish and chips. Service was OK.

Next time will try their pizza which they are famous for.

I've been to Shield's a couple of times before, but last night I went to listen to Karaoke, and I have to say it was so much fun! Very crowded as well!
I was thinking I wanted to order Beef Nachos, but ended up seeing that they had a Mexican Pizza.  So I decided to try that, and it was very good!

I will definitely go back for more Karaoke entertainment and food!

I was absolutely craving a Detroit style deep dish pizza one day, but it was getting late and I know some places close earlier than others... Luckily Shield's came to my rescue and was still open! I hadn't been to/eaten Shield's pizza in at least 15 years, so I had no idea what I was getting myself into and I was excited to try it. This one sits right off telegraph, with a entrance that takes you behind the restaurant to its parking lot.

There were two sides, a bar side and a restaurant side which we were seated in. Once my bf and I sat down, we noticed there was a serious 90's pizzeria vibe with huge leather booths and posters on all the walls. We both were starving, so we ordered our own pizzas, respectively. I just got a regular ol' large cheese pizza, and he got a large meat lover's pizza. Overall our pizzas were pretty good. The top of the pizza tasted the best, then the rest of it was pretty bland. It was nice and crunchy throughout, but I was missing the buttery/garlicy taste from the rest of the crust. It did have a good amount of cheese and I didn't even ask for extra, so that's always good. The cheesiest part was in the middle, and then the cheese got really crispy along the edges, which I loved! The service was amazing too! We had a really nice time.

Met a few friends at this restaurant on a weekday night last week. I can't say that I will return for food, but I'd go again to listen to my pals sing karaoke.

There was another person with me, two of our friends had already been seated and had drinks. Before I knew it, I had been there almost a full thirty minutes and had not seen a waitress. A pal had to get up and ask a staff person to send her over.

I ordered sliders and a drink. The drink was decent, but the slders were subpar. The hamburger was cooked so hard that my gums were scratched in an attempt to eat the sliders, which were also sloppily put together.

The overall atmosphere was lively. There were plenty of people there having a good time.

Parking is easy breezy as there is a large parking lot, and extended parking all around.

The prices of the menu items and drinks seemed comparable.

I will add that I had been to this restaurant appropriately five years ago and remember enjoying the pizza. Perhaps I should stick with their apparent specialty if I go again. *shrugs*
